[[On trail in woods]] Humphry: What's shakin', toots? Woman: Toots? Like a train, like toot-toot? Woman: That's your line? Humphry: Not toots, tootse. Woman: I'd pronounce that the same way. [[Hand and forearm reaching out of ground]] Humphry: Tuuts? Woman: You see, the problem with comic strips is I have to READ the bubbles floating over your head. Zombie Ferdinand de Saussure: If you had listened to me while I was alive, you'd have a perfectly reasonable way to represent: Humphry: Shut up, Zombie de Saussure, no one even knows how to pronounce your name. On my first attempt to draw this comic, the female character was, in a word, ugly. A flat chest and no butt, along with prominent cheekbones (which ended up looking more like wrinkles), rendered her a most uncharming character. When I finally got it right, she was a little too attractive. Needless to say, I’ve since spent some alone time with her.

In website news, you can now search our vast comic database for that dialogue you loved ages ago. Try it out, if you’d like, in the archive.

Maybe you’ve noticed that every comic has had a random character show up and chime in with his two cents, but never before was that character a zombie. Zombies make everything better. Actually, they usually make everything much worse, but here, better all the way. I think we’ll reuse this zombie-version-of-dead-person gimmick again. In fact I know we will, and it’s in the next comic. Come Wednesday and cross your fingers; maybe your favorite historical figure will be zombified.

Maybe he’ll be riding an old-timey bicycle.

In case you were worried, our website has not developed cancer. We’re just fiddling with how the layout deals with annoying wide panels. There’s an even better solution in the pipeline, but it might take some development. For now, enjoy the tumors. It doesn’t look great, but it’s better than what was there before.
