To the Picture, Go the Spoils

To the Picture, Go the Spoils comic
You: Room is good. Until they leave the room, and then it's bad. Me: Aww, c'mon. Spoilers. You: Most of the movie takes place outside the room. You: That's not a spoiler. It's in the trailer. Me: I don't watch trailers for this very reason. Me: [[listing off on his fingers]]: I also don't want to see a poster, know who's in it, what it's rated, the title... You: The title? Me: There Will be Blood!? Me: I didn't want to know there was going to be blood. Me: [[hands up in air]] Me: 12 Years a Slave? Me: Zack and Miri Make a Porno? Me: The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford? Me: John Dies at the End!? You: There's a movie called "John Dis at the End"? You: ...does John die at the end? Me: Who knows? Me: I refuse to watch it. Me: It's already been spoiled.

In what I venture to call irony, after shipping over a rough draft of my script, Will, who’d already seen the movie in question informed me, who had not, the true fate of John. I am, perhaps again ironically, less inclined to watch it.

As brushed over in the comic proper, the MPAA rating administration is a glorified spoiler machine. How do you expect me to enjoy my cinematic sex, gore, and drug use if I’m anticipating it. I was going into Requiem imagining a beautiful dreamscape inhabited by a frolicking Jared Leto and Jennifer Connelly, and then those rat-bastards dashed my fantasy.

Will doesn’t blog anymore, but I have a quote from our email chain:
“I like this comic. It’s true my woman looks bad, but If I keep practicing I can one day draw a girl.”
Perhaps, he will one day remember how to draw in color, too. I tried to remind him in the bonus panel.

Nipples out,
Jesse
